Jon grew up in Van Buren, Arkansas as a country boy who spent most of his time hunting, fishing and worked on farms. At 18, Jon went to school at the University of Arkansas to complete a degree in Criminal Justice. Before the completion of his degree, Jon decided to join the United States Marine Corps due to the feeling of needing to contribute his time to his country in a time of war.

While serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, Jon was deployed on multiple combat tours as an infantry mortar-man and machine gunner. During his time in the military, he attended many formal schools where he shaped his skills in high-value personnel security, weapons and explosive handling, cover and concealment, defensive and offensive driving, military discipline, leadership tactics, and numerous other techniques. During Jon’s combat tours in the Middle East, he was able to gain experience by working with teams of Marines in static and mobile security, raids on high-value targets, combat operations, and personnel security.

After his time in the U.S. Marine Corps, Jon finally received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from American Military University. At the same time, he started a family with his wife, Maresa, and was employed in the oil field on Frac crews throughout the Midwest prior to the startup of his own business ventures. Jon now owns and directs a cannabis security company called Liberty Defense Group, as the Chief of Operations, which provides armed security, cash transport and product transport across numerous states in the southern part of the US to small and large-scale cannabis operations.
